The design for the Zhangshiyan Mountain Resort finds its primary motives through a respect for nature and the preservation of the natural beauty of the site and its surroundings. This includes respect for not only the vegetation, wildlife and landscape, but also for the local community in which the resort resides. The project will create a world class recreation and relaxation venue with minimal negative impact on the existing environment.

To achieve this we have developed a concept around the idea of throwing small stones into still water, the basic principles are as follows: We imagine the site to exist as a small pond, a thriving interdependent ecosystem, if we were to throw a large boulder into this pond we would create a large splash greatly disrupting the immediate spaces, furthermore, the splash would send large waves across the pond further disrupting peripheral environments. Instead, we propose gently placing small pebbles into the water, these pebbles make no splash and only the smallest of ripples within the environment of the pond. These small interventions have the ability to quietly nest themselves into the existing environment with minimal interruption. Natural processes will continue growing around small structures create a site organization that is unified with nature rather than opposed to it. Man within Nature rather than Man versus Nature.

This project is programmed to draw visitors to the awe-inspiring location of Zhangshiyan. The program will offer not simply space for visitors to stay but a range of activity spaces and attractions drawing people out of their crowded urban homes into the peaceful and healthy environment of the mountains. Emphasizing the natural beauty of the area, the resort will offer many opportunities to experience the space at different levels. Firstly, all buildings constructed on the site will be designed and oriented to maximize the appreciation of the vast local beauty. Large windows will offer panoramic views of the world-class natural features. Utilizing emerging technological advances, the resort will also offer visitors the opportunity to experience the natural spaces up close and personal through the implementation of first person view drone experiences as well as helicopter tours of the less easily accessible regions of the area. This will set a new world standard for how visitors may experience the natural beauty of the world. By leveraging the technology of drone flight and virtual reality goggles, we are able to bring visitors into many of the untouched natural areas without needing to insert man-made structures such as pathways, rest stops and other required structures. The spaces are experienced without being disturbed preserving their beauty for future generations.

嶂石岩航空主题度假小镇规划设计的灵感来自于对嶂石岩壮丽的自然景色以及秀美的场地环境的尊重。这份尊重不仅包含了对当地丰富的植被、野生动物和美好风光的由衷赞叹；同时也包含了对场地周边多样的生活状态和文化的理解和认同。因此，本次小镇项目将致力于在打造一个世界级休闲娱乐场所的同时；通过降低对场地的影响，营造出一个人与生态和谐共处的空间。

为了实现本次设计的理念，我们延伸出一个简约却有着深刻禅意的概念，这个概念来自于观察石子落入静水所产生的涟漪。我们想象这个场地就是那一池静水--一个勃勃生机而又相互依存的生态系统。如果我们向这个池塘内丢入一块大石，这块大石溅起的水花会极大的影响到当前的空间，同时造成很大的水浪进一步影响到整个环境。但是，如若我们用很小的石子轻柔的投向水面，这些石子却不会溅起水花而仅仅会造出一些很小的涟漪。这些小的介入具有很快并顺利融入环境的能力，同时对环境仅仅造成最小限度的影响。我们的设计就像这些小石子一样。自然生态会融入到有机的建筑规划组织间，最终达到建筑与自然共生和谐的效果。人与自然共生而非人类对抗自然，达到天人合一的境界。

本次小镇规划项目的是为了吸引游客体验嶂石岩最壮阔秀的美景。小镇内的项目不仅仅是为游人提供栖身之所，而是提供多样的活动空间及旅游热点，使游客能够远离喧嚣的城市去充分体验这宁静秀美而健康绿色的崇山峻岭。度假小镇将通过多样的设计手法来提供游人以不同程度的体验本地块的自然之美。首先在建筑规划朝向上，所有的建筑设计朝向都会最大限度的提供本地块周边的绝佳景色。最大化的利用开窗向游客及业主提供全景的视野去欣赏这世界级的自然风光。同时通过最前沿的技术---第一视角无人机虚拟现实体验（VR）及乘坐直升机；度假小镇将提供给游人完全不同的新型旅游体验，用新的视角，触及以往人迹罕至的绝佳风光。这将是中国乃至世界领先的旅游体验，同时这也满足了我们对保护自然，人与自然和谐共处的承诺。通过先进的无人机与虚拟现实眼镜链接，游人将不在需要多余的人工栈道，步道，休息区等一切影响自然的设施并能够领略到以往所不能体验的地区，同时为子孙后代保留了一片美丽的自然风光。
